The Spirit Bares Its Teeth is named in the shortlisted top 10 for the Young Adult Novel category at the Locus Awards.

Andrew Joseph White's second novel, The Spirit Bares Its Teeth, follows sixteen-year-old trans autistic Silas Bell as he is sent to a sanitorium for girls and dead students begin to reach out to him for help. Originally published in the US, Daphne Press will be publishing The Spirit Bares Its Teeth on 6 August 2024 as part of its summer of queer speculative fiction.

Shortlisted beside Garth Nix, Rebecca Ross and Charlie Jane Anders, the winners from each category will be announced on 22 June 2024 and we wish Andrew the best of luck and support from everyone here at Daphne Press.
